Quick Start · Stopwatch runningQuick Start · Stopwatch running

From your first doc to a live answer — before your coffee goes cold.

Three steps separate you from a working bot: pull data, choose a style, go live. Median across all beta onboardings: 3 minutes 42 seconds. Measured, not promised.

What happens in which minute

3:42 — six split times, one stopwatch.

Instead of a four-step grid, we show you where every second goes. The median with well-prepared material is below that — the median without preparation is above it. Your first run lands somewhere in between.

  1. 0:00

    Click “New bot”

You land in the setup form — a few fields, no API keys, no email-validation ping-pong.

    Start
  2. 0:35

Connect a website or drop a PDF

Enter a domain and we read the subpages along with it, or drag and drop a PDF — the indexer keeps running in the background right away.

    Source
  3. 1:20

Set the style in the form

You enter greeting and system prompt yourself: audience, language, tone and taboo topics in a few fields.

    Tone
  4. 2:30

Brand color + welcome message in the live preview

Color picker, logo upload, four suggested questions — and on the right you see in real time how your bot page looks. No page builder.

    Look
  5. 3:30

    Click “Publish”

Bot subdomain, HTTPS certificate, vector search, login layer — all automatic. You get the URL and can share it right away.

    First real answer

A visitor types a question. The bot draws from your knowledge base, answers with a source citation — and you have your first iteration.

Why it has to be fast in the first place

Setup friction kills most bot projects.

Three classic pitfalls — that Zeptix deliberately leaves out:

  • Sprint required. Classic tools need account setup, API connections, prompt engineering, embeddings, hosting. Time to the first answer: days.
  • Code barrier. Open-source bots demand Python, vector stores, LLM contracts — solo founders and coaches are out immediately.
  • Data format chaos. Notion, PDF, website, Excel — every format different. Splitting, re-indexing, embedding costs — friction everywhere.
Six accelerators

What every single Zeptix second saves.

Each point below replaces a classic setup step — not with a fancier UI, but by eliminating it entirely. You click, we handle it.

PDF without prep work

Drop the file, done. We split the document into sections and keep page numbers for source citations — indexing runs in the background.

Websites via URL

One input line, one domain. We crawl the sitemap, parse the content, ignore footer / cookie banner / navigation and respect robots.txt.

Marketplace quickstart

No data of your own? Activate a pack (travel, coaching, coding, fitness) — the bot can answer meaningfully right away, and you add your own material later.

A form instead of an empty field

Instead of prompt engineering you complete setup in a few steps: name, branding, greeting, prompt. No YAML.

Live preview, every change

Move a slider, change a color, swap the logo — the bot page renders next to you in real time, no reload, no save button.

Custom domain from Pro

chat.your-company.com via CNAME — from the Pro plan. We fetch the HTTPS certificate ourselves; you need neither a Cloudflare account nor your own web server. On Starter your bot runs on your zeptix.io subdomain.

FAQ

FAQ about the quick start.

Are the 3:42 min really accurate?

That's the median across the beta onboardings: measured from the “Create bot” click to the first answer. Pro users are through in 90 seconds, beginners take up to 8 minutes — but rarely more.

What if my data isn't in a PDF?

For uploads we support PDF, Markdown, TXT, CSV, JSON and ZIP archives. We read websites via URL and Discord server exports via JSON file. Anything else (Google Docs, Confluence, DOCX) you export into one of these formats first — there are no direct integrations with those services.

How quickly is the bot up to date again after a change?

Style changes are live instantly (hot reload of the bot page). New documents are re-indexed in 5–60 seconds depending on size — for large sources this continues in the background, and the bot answers from the old state in the meantime.

Do I need perfectly structured data beforehand?

No. zep also processes loose notes, multi-page PDFs and unsorted Markdown files. But whatever you want as an answer later should be somewhere in the data — bots don't make up anything new.

What if I need several bots at the same time?

On the 14-day trial: one bot. Starter: 3 bots, Pro: 5, Business: 10 — each with its own knowledge, style and URL. You can share knowledge sources between bots or keep them strictly separate — no cross-indexing per tenant.

I have no data at all — can I still start?

Yes. Activate a marketplace pack with ready-made answers on travel, fitness, coaching or coding. In 30 seconds you have a bot that answers meaningfully — and you can load your own data later.

Stopwatch ready? Then go.

The 14-day trial runs without a credit card. If you're not live in under 5 minutes — write to us, we'll go through it together with you.
