End-User Terms of Use

For visitors of chatbots operated on the Zeptix platform · v2026-05-28

1. What is this page about?

You are chatting with a bot operated by an independent third party (the "Bot Operator") on the technical infrastructure of the Zeptix Multi-Tenant Chatbot Platform ("Zeptix").

This page explains in clear language who is responsible for what, what you can — and cannot — expect, and which rules apply when using the bot. It is not a contract and does not make you a customer of Zeptix.

2. Who is your contractual partner?

There are two separate responsibilities when chatting with a bot on Zeptix — please keep them apart:

a) Content of the bot (topics, persona, knowledge base, specific answers): responsibility lies with the respective Bot Operator — not with Zeptix. The Bot Operator decides:

  • which topics the bot covers,
  • which knowledge documents the bot has access to,
  • which personality / instructions the bot is given,
  • which answers the bot returns to you.

If you enter into a content-related / commercial relationship with the bot (e.g. a consultation, an offer, a booking with the Bot Operator), that relationship is with the Bot Operator, not with Zeptix. You can find the Bot Operator in the bot's own Imprint or Privacy Notice.

b) Purchase of credits or a paid plan (Zeptix-first / platform checkout): your direct contractual partner is Zeptix (sole proprietor: Alexander Sadomsky, Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 18, 20459 Hamburg, Germany, VAT-ID: DE454774827). Stripe checkout, invoice and statutory withdrawal right (where applicable) are handled by Zeptix. The Bot Operator may receive an agreed share, but is not the seller of the credits in this flow.

Exception "Business-Direct": For Business bots that explicitly switched to direct sales (the Bot Operator has their own Stripe Connect account), the Bot Operator sells you the credits directly and is your contractual partner for that purchase as well. You can recognise this in the checkout by the Bot Operator's company name, VAT-ID and imprint on the invoice, and by separate notices shown before payment.

3. AI notice (EU AI Act, Art. 50)

You are chatting with an artificial intelligence (Large Language Model). This means:

  • Answers can be wrong (so-called "hallucinations") — even if they sound convincing.
  • The AI does not retain context across sessions (unless the Bot Operator has explicitly enabled this).
  • The AI is not a domain expert — no legal advice, no medical diagnosis, no binding financial advice.
  • Important decisions should be verified independently and, in case of doubt, with qualified professionals (lawyer, doctor, tax advisor).

3a. Free plan, free credits and top-ups

The Bot Operator may offer free message quotas, free credits, paid credit top-ups or combinations of these. These settings are defined by the respective Bot Operator and may change.

Announcement of changes: Once a bot is publicly available, the operator changes the type of monetization (e.g. whether and how credits or plans are required) at most once every 30 days. Any such change is announced to you at least 30 days in advance (shown in the chat) and only takes effect after that period. Until then, the previous terms continue to apply unchanged.

Free credits and free plan messages are voluntary usage quotas. They have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, are not transferable and do not create any entitlement to permanent free use or to a specific number of future answers. Purchased credits apply only to the respective bot or tenant unless stated otherwise at checkout.

Withdrawal on Zeptix-first purchases: at checkout for digital credits you consent to immediate provision and to the resulting expiry of your statutory right of withdrawal under § 356(5) German Civil Code (BGB). Credits already used cannot be refunded. In case of a refund / chargeback of an unconsumed (or partially consumed) top-up, the originally granted credits are deducted from your end-user balance — but never below zero (no negative balances).

What credits are — and what they are not: credits are technical usage units for AI responses within this specific chatbot. They are:

  • non-redeemable for cash — not to you, not to any third party
  • non-transferable between bots, accounts or persons
  • non-tradable, no peer-to-peer (P2P), no swap, no exchange
  • not a wallet, not an account and not a payment instrument under the German Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG)
  • not electronic money within the meaning of § 1a (3) ZAG
  • not a cryptocurrency, token or NFT
  • not an investment or financial product

If the business relationship with this chatbot ends — e.g. because the Bot Operator discontinues the bot or you delete your end-user account — unused credits expire without replacement. There is no buy-back, no payout and no transfer to another bot. You have no claim to a specific number of future answers nor to constant credit costs per answer.

4. Prohibited inputs

Please do not use the bot for the following purposes. Violations are automatically detected, logged and may lead to a suspension of your account by the Bot Operator or by Zeptix.

  • Illegal content: instructions for crimes, drug synthesis, weapons manufacturing, hacking tools, child sexual abuse material, extremism.
  • Hate and discrimination: incitement to violence, insults based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability.
  • Self-harm: instructions on suicide, self-injury or eating disorders. If you are in a crisis, please contact your local crisis hotline.
  • Personal data of third parties: attempts to make the bot disclose private data of other people.
  • Spam, advertising, automated mass requests.
  • Prompt injection: attempts to bypass or override the safety or topic instructions of the bot.
  • Reverse engineering of the platform, the models or the bot's knowledge data.

See our full Acceptable Use Policy for more details.

5. What about your data?

How your inputs are processed is governed by the Zeptix Privacy Policy and the Bot Operator's own privacy notice. In short:

  • Your chats are stored to give the bot context for follow-up questions.
  • The Bot Operator can read your chats (for quality control and to improve the knowledge base).
  • To generate answers, your inputs are transmitted to external AI providers (e.g. OpenAI, Groq, Cerebras) — see our Subprocessor List.
  • You can request deletion of your account at any time (GDPR Art. 17).

6. Reporting an answer / reporting abuse

If the bot gives you an answer that you consider wrong, harmful or legally problematic, you can report it to the Bot Operator via the "⚑ report" button below each bot answer. The Bot Operator should respond within 48 hours (this is contractually agreed with Zeptix).

If the Bot Operator does not respond, or if you suspect that a bot is being systematically misused (e.g. for distributing illegal content), you can contact Zeptix directly at [email protected] or via our Incident Reporting page.

7. Liability

Zeptix accepts no liability for the factual correctness, completeness or timeliness of bot answers. Answers are AI-generated and may be wrong. Binding statements can only be obtained from the Bot Operator directly or from qualified professionals.

The Bot Operator is solely responsible for the bot's content (knowledge base, personality, topics). Damages and warranty claims arising from business relationships with the bot are directed at the Bot Operator, not at Zeptix.

Zeptix is liable only for intent and gross negligence in cases where the platform itself has breached an obligation (e.g. unauthorised data disclosure caused by a platform bug).

8. Contact

Questions about these end-user terms: [email protected]

Questions about a specific bot: see the imprint / privacy notice of the respective Bot Operator.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated occasionally, in particular when platform features change or when legal requirements (EU AI Act, GDPR, DSA) evolve. Material changes are announced inside the chat window.
