Two business modes

You decide how your visitors interact with your bot — free for everyone (in every plan), or pay-as-you-go via credits, where you earn revenue (unlocks from Pro).

Completely free for your visitors

Visitors chat freely with your bot — as long as you don't exceed the free visitor daily cap of your plan. Ideal for marketing, support or knowledge bots that build reach and brand trust.

  • Daily cap from your plan protects you from spike costs
  • Cap reached → bot shows a friendly notice until the next day

Pay-as-you-go — start Zeptix-first

Activate end-user credits or plans — immediately or after free messages per visitor. Visitors top up through Zeptix. Paid end-user usage does not consume your normal owner cap; actions and free usage remain reserved separately. Ideal for premium knowledge, coaching bots, exclusive communities or API-style bot services.

  • Zeptix-first — Zeptix sells and bills end-user credits/plans
  • Business Direct — own Stripe products only with Business White-Label and tested provider keys
  • Visitor messages do not count against your plan token cap — the end-user covers the inference cost
  • From Pro you can configure actions, gifts and end-user credits

Mode A is active in every plan. The visitor paywall + credit system (Mode B) can be activated from the Starter plan; an owner share of net revenue (revenue share) kicks in from the Pro plan — on Starter, Mode B serves purely as cost relief for your credit pool.

How are "free visitor messages" and "owner test tokens" counted?

  • Free visitor messages = requests your visitors can send to your bot for free (Mode A, or before the paywall triggers in Mode B). The daily cap protects you from spike costs.
  • Owner test tokens are your own setup budget — for building, prompting, iterating and training cycles in the dashboard. Realistically you'll consume less than 1M tokens/month at steady state; the quota is intentionally generous for the initial build-up phase.
  • Once your paywall triggers (Mode B), your visitors pay via Zeptix-first credits or plans. Paid end-user usage is booked separately from the normal owner cap; the free phase, actions and your tests remain owner-funded and protected by reserves.
  • A typical Q&A round with 3 document excerpts consumes around 1,900 tokens.

How does credit billing work?
Each answer costs ~3-5 credits, training ~1 credit per chunk. The Pro plan includes 15,000 credits — typically enough for an active shop, coach or service bot. Unused credits do NOT roll over. If needed, you can purchase top-up packs or, from Starter onward, route end-user purchases through the visitor paywall (Mode B, sold via Zeptix). Owner revenue share kicks in from the Pro plan.
Are credits a wallet or a means of payment?
No. Credits are purely technical usage units for AI responses inside your chatbot. They are non-redeemable for cash, non-transferable between bots or accounts, non-tradable (no P2P, no swap), not a wallet, not electronic money under § 1a (3) ZAG, not a cryptocurrency and not an investment product. Buying credits buys the right to consume them for AI answers in that specific bot.
Are my data GDPR-compliant?
Platform hosting in Germany (Hetzner, ISO 27001), DPA under Art. 28 GDPR on request. Chat content is sent to the AI providers we use in order to generate answers (providers, locations and third-country safeguards are listed openly at /subprocessors), but is contractually not used to train their models. Audit trail and end-user terms are baked in. Business adds white-label, own email sending and Business Direct mode for own Stripe products.
Can I use my own domain?
From Pro onward: yes. Add a CNAME record, we verify automatically and provision TLS via Let's Encrypt (auto-renewal). Subdomain (chat.your-brand.com) or apex domain — both supported. Business additionally provides own email sending via your domain.
Can my bot talk to other systems?
Via actions, webhooks and (from Business) own API keys. Pro: visitor paywall with Zeptix-first billing + KYC. Business: Business Direct with own Stripe products and full white-label. Premium auto-routing combines multiple model providers for best per-question quality.
How do I teach my bot new things?
Three combinable paths: 1) Upload or sync PDFs / Notion / web pages. 2) Chat with your bot in the training coach ("answer this way from now on"). 3) Install a marketplace pack. Everything is stored in your knowledge base (10/50/200 MB per plan).
Can I customize my bot's appearance?
In every plan: logo, accent color, tonality. From Pro: custom domain + extended branding options. In Business: white-label without "Powered by Zeptix" footer, custom CSS, own email sending + DE/EN presence for international audiences.
