What is Zeptix?
TL;DR — Zeptix in three sentences:
- Zeptix is a German platform where you get your own AI chatbot live in under five minutes — no servers of your own, no ML knowledge required.
- You upload your knowledge, define the personality and tone of your bot, and receive your own bot URL at
your-slug.zeptix.ioor, optionally, on your own domain. - Zeptix handles hosting, automatic answer logic, protection mechanisms, source processing and — if you want — the end-user billing for your bot as well.

Who does not need Zeptix: anyone who wants a single-use chatbot in ChatGPT style without their own data. For that, ChatGPT or Claude are cheaper directly.
What Zeptix actually offers
1. Hosting your bot
Every bot gets its own subdomain like my-bot.zeptix.io and a branded chat interface with your colors, your logo and your welcome message. From the Pro plan onward, you can additionally serve the bot on your own domain (e.g. chat.yourcompany.com).
2. Knowledge base
You upload PDFs — up to 50 MB per file. Zeptix processes them automatically:
- Text is extracted from your sources.
- Long content is prepared into easily findable sections.
- User questions are matched with relevant passages from your knowledge base.
- Sources can be made visible in the chat.
This means: your bot does not have to guess, it can derive answers from your sources. The clearer your PDFs and website content are written, the better the answer quality becomes.
3. Automatic answer logic
You do not have to pick technical models or parameters for every question. Zeptix automatically decides which answer logic makes sense for each request. What matters most for you is:
- a good knowledge base,
- a clear personality,
- a fitting tone,
- clean boundaries for topics your bot should not answer.
From Business onward, you can additionally store your own provider keys. This is intended for teams who want to manage their AI costs and provider contracts themselves.
4. Branding without code
- Primary color and secondary color.
- Logo upload.
- Welcome message, example questions, personality prompt.
- Header link (e.g. back to your main page).
- From Business: the "Powered by Zeptix" notice can optionally be removed (white-label).
5. Monetization — if you want it
Default: your bot is freely accessible and you only pay your monthly subscription.
If you want to commercialize the bot, you have two paths:
- Zeptix-first (from Pro): Zeptix sells end-user credits or end-user plans to your visitors and you receive a partner compensation on qualifying purchases. You do not have to handle any billing yourself.
- Business-Direct (only from Business): You sell your own products with your own Stripe Connect account, your own prices and your own provider keys. You carry full product and tax responsibility, and Zeptix only takes a platform fee.

What Zeptix deliberately does NOT do
These points are often misunderstandings — we address them explicitly:

| "I can make my bot fully offline-capable." | No. The bot runs as a web application. An on-premise variant is not planned. |
| "Zeptix can read pure image PDFs." | Pure image PDFs are unsuitable for chatbots. Run text recognition first or upload a text-based file. |

How Zeptix positions itself technically
Zeptix is built as a hosted platform: you do not have to run servers, maintain an AI pipeline or build your own search logic. The platform takes care of hosting, processing your knowledge sources, protection mechanisms, role permissions, billing and ongoing operations.
What is important for you: your work happens in the dashboard. There you maintain knowledge, design, tone, plan logic and tests. Technical details in the background are deliberately abstracted so you can focus on the value of your chatbot.
