Monetization and Billing FAQ
This FAQ explains the most important billing terms in Zeptix. The basic rule is: Credits are technical usage units, Zeptix-first is the safe default, and Business-Direct is intended only for deliberately configured Business setups.
Are Credits a balance?
No. Credits are technical usage units for AI responses in a bot. They are not payable, not tradable, not freely transferable between users, and not e-money.
Who sells end-user Credits?
In the Zeptix-first model, Zeptix sells the end-user Credits or end-user plans. The bot operator provides the bot and, starting with Pro, can receive partner compensation on qualifying purchases.
When do I need Stripe Connect?
For Pro, Connect can be relevant for payouts and KYC. Your own end-user products via Connect, by contrast, belong to the Business-Direct mode and require Business, white-label, tested provider keys and deliberate activation.
What is partner compensation?
Partner compensation is a possible share of qualifying Zeptix-first purchases starting with Pro. It arises from safely distributable net revenue after costs, reserves, refund/chargeback risk and the Zeptix margin, not from gross revenue.
Does paid end-user usage count against my Owner Cap?
Purchased end-user usage in the Zeptix-first model is handled separately from the normal Owner Cap. Free usage, training and promotions must still be limited.
What happens with a refund or chargeback?
Refunds or chargebacks can block, reduce or reverse partner compensation. That is why there are statuses such as pending, payable, paid and reversed.
